My Journey To POUR
My Journey To POUR
They said Shaunte was
"born too poor."
She knew she was
Born to POUR.
They said Shaunte was "born too poor."
She knew she was Born to POUR.
Raised in several of Cleveland’s most underserved neighborhoods, Shaunte was born to a single mother determined to break the cycle she had inherited. From an early age, she learned that generational challenges do not have to be repeated. They can be broken through intentional choices.

When her high school counselor told her that her socioeconomic status meant she was “born too poor” to attend the college of her choice, Shaunte decided: she would prove them wrong.

Shaunte earned her bachelor’s degree from Wittenberg University, where she thrived beyond academics. Later, she obtained her master’s degree from Cleveland State University, proving yet again that circumstances do not define destiny. Purpose and perseverance do.
For more than three decades in the criminal justice system, Shaunte refined her expertise in education, counseling, coaching, and relational intelligence; designing evolutionary programs that empowered both individuals and organizations to thrive. Her 31-year career as an Adult Probation Officer at the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court was never just about enforcing rules. It was about unlocking potential, restoring hope, and showing that change is possible.
Because her story mirrored so many of the people she served, Shaunte’s work was never about control. It was about connection. She did not just hold individuals accountable. She gave them hope. Through programs rooted in education, purpose, and relational intelligence, she guided countless lives toward lasting change.
That passion led her to establish Born to POUR, LLC, where she equips individuals, teams, and organizations to uncover purpose, maximize potential, and create measurable impact. Her approach bridges practical strategies with personal growth, giving clients not just inspiration but the tools, mindset, and confidence to thrive and not just survive.
Her influence stretches from community to courtroom to classroom. As adjunct faculty at the Ohio Supreme Court Judicial College, Cleveland State University, and Cuyahoga Community College, Shaunte has shaped leaders, guided professionals, and empowered individuals on the journey to reach their full potential.
Service remains at the heart of her life’s mission. Through her service with the Greater Cleveland Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and Dress for Success Cleveland, Shaunte pours forward to the very communities that shaped her foundation.
Through workshops, coaching, and keynotes, she empowers individuals to break cycles, build character, and embrace purpose. Organizations benefit from her expertise in relational intelligence, leadership development, and cultural evolution, resulting in stronger teams and lasting impact.
Beyond her professional work, Shaunte is a restorer at heart. Whether bringing life back to vintage cars and furniture or helping individuals rebuild their confidence, vision, and future, everything she does reflects her core belief. Change and growth are always possible, no matter where you start.
When you partner with Shaunte Dixon, you do not just gain a coach. You gain a guide, mentor, and a catalyst for transformation. Her journey from “born too poor” to Born to POUR is living proof that transformation is possible. Her assignment is clear: to help you and your organization experience the same.
